What is the PPWR?
Key Points at a Glance
The PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation) is an EU regulation on packaging and packaging waste. It applies to all companies that place packaging or pre-packaged products on the market in the EU. The overall goal is to minimize the environmental footprint of packaging-intensive companies and to promote a sustainable circular economy. Four key areas will help us achieve this overall goal:
Reducing Packaging Waste
Unnecessary packaging should be avoided, and attention should be paid to reusability. Companies must ensure that a certain percentage of their packaging is reusable.
Promoting Sustainable Packaging
In the future, packaging should be designed to be recyclable. This packaging must meet certain recycling standards in order to remain marketable by 2030.
Increasing the Recycling Rate
Future packaging will include a minimum percentage of recycled material. The focus here is on keeping materials in circulation longer to conserve resources and reduce waste.
Harmonization within the EU
Standardized packaging labeling within the EU will make it easier to sort packaging waste, which will be simpler for consumers and businesses to implement.

Standard Quickboxes and Shipping Packaging
Our standard Quickboxes (stock items) are manufactured and distributed under our name. This also applies to shipping packaging in which we pack our products for shipment. Polyform Kunststofftechnik GmbH & Co. KG is considered the manufacturer of these types of packaging.
